Andrew Skurka will be in Smokies area next week

Renowned long-distance backpacker and former National Geographic "Adventurer of the Year", Andrew Skurka, will be in the Great Smoky Mountains region next week for a series of presentations about his epic solo adventures in Alaska and Yukon, as well as a backpacking skills workshop in conjunction with his brand new book, The Ultimate Hiker's Gear Guide.

His speaking engagement at the Grove Park Inn next Wednesday and Thursady coincides with the grand opening of the brand new Nantahala Outdoor Center at the Grove Park Inn.
