Vertical Limit (2000) - FULL MOVIE

Vertical Limit (2000) - FULL MOVIE . Veritcal Limit for those of you who aren't familiar with it, K2 is the ultimate challenge for a mountain climber. At over 28,000 feet, it is just shy of being as tall as Mount Everest, but it is much much tougher to climb. In addition to the sheer rocky face and snow and ice, you have to spend much of the climb in the "dead zone". Your body struggles just to live at that altitude due to lack of oxygen, let alone do a strenuous climb. Even during the very narrow window in summer where the weather is calm enough to attempt to climb K2, you also have subzero temperatures to deal with and blinding snow storms can come up in just a matter of hours stranding climbers with no way to move up or down.

Vertical LimitWow.... That just about describes how I feel about Martin Campbell’s adventure thriller Vertical Limit; 2 ½ hours of chair gripping, heart stopping nonsense.

One factor in the challenge which is also known as hydrospeed this is speed. In the current very swift, surfer speed can exceed 30 km per hour. Not fast at all compared to the motorcycle. However, the other challenge is the direct relationship between the perpetrators with the rivers. It s just between you and the river, so the motto the lovers. Modern surfboard is generally made of foam rubber thickness is 8-12 cm. In the turbulent water of the river, sometimes thick board that does not mean anything. With the rubber boat or kayak, we are often swallowed cascade. With riverboard, almost all the time we are in parallel with the surface water. The rest, briefly disappear briefly into the air. That's why there are sites on the internet surfing the river to install the title Face Level.

Not the other, the French spark riverboarding this jacket to replace the originally simply tied with foam rubber. Forms also continue to be developed, to achieve the basic form of a surfboard that the river is now known.

Now, riverboarding already wide spread in Europe, America and Australia and New Zealand. Robert Carlson said, however, one of the leaders riverboarding modern, actual events have already hydrospeed since prehistoric era! How can? According to Carlson, who has jumped into the river with any means of float, and surf the flow, can be categorized as surfer river. For example, there are groups of people who take advantage of the ancient fallen trees or blocks of wood as a means of transportation. Until now no such activity still exists. For example, try to play the villages near the rivers. Children of primary school age with a relaxing bath in the river with the downpours often only banana trunks or bamboo. Seems prehistoric era still in progress.

riverboarding
Why riverboarding very late entering Indonesia? It's not just a matter of price, although price riverboard on average above 3 million if the exchange rate of rupiah. May play a role is a slow flow of information. Now, we can easily surf the internet, that information flow so as soon as the river flows after rainfall in the upstream, so that we in Indonesia can be surfing in the rivers of our immeasurable potential and challenges, and even participate in race-race hydrospeed that have been held in many other countries.

History of Mountain Biking

Mountain BikingHistory of Mountain Biking. Mountain biking started to evolve in the late 1960s and early 1970s. At the time, there was no such thing as a mountain bicycle. The earliest ancestors of modern mountain bikes were based around frames from road cruisers such as those made by Schwinn. Riders used balloon tired beach cruisers and modified them with gears and motocross style handlebars. They would bomb (ride fast) down mountain fireroads. The sport originated in California

It wasn't until the late 1970s and early 1980s that road bicycle companies started to manufacture mountain bicycles using high tech light weight materials. Gary Fisher is normally credited with introducing the first purpose-built mountain bike in 1979. The designs were basically road bicycle frames with a wider frame and fork to allow for a wider tire. The handlebars were also different in that they were a straight handlebar, rather than the low curved handlebars that are typically installed on road racing bicycles. Also, some of the parts on early production mountain bicycles were taken from the BMX bicycle. The first mass produced mountain bikes were produced by Specialized and had 18 gears.

Up until recently, mountain bicycles had road bicycle style frames and geometry. With mountain bicycling becoming more main stream and thus more aggressive in riding styles, newer stronger and better designed frames are coming out with a geometry designed for much more aggressive riding such as riding over obstacles like logs, rocks, and man made wooden bridges and ramps. Also, many riders are now jumping on mountain bicycles and taking on a more BMX style of riding. Newer mountain bikes have either 24 or 27 speeds. Three gears in the front and 8 or 9 gears at the rear wheel.

mountain biking
Many newer mountain bikes have a full suspension design. In the past, mountain bikes had a rigid frame and a rigid fork. In the mid 90's mountain bikes started to have a front suspension fork. This made riding on rough terrain easier on a riders arms. The first suspension forks has about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of suspension travel. Soon after, some frame designers came out with a suspension frame which gave riders a smoother ride all around. Early suspension frames were heavy and bounced up and down while a rider pedaled. This took a lot of power out of a riders pedal stoke, especially during climbs up steep hills. Newer suspension frame and fork designs have improved the weight, amount of suspension travel, and feel. Many lock out the rear suspension while the rider is pedaling hard or climbing. Most suspension frames and forks have at least 4 inches of suspension travel. More aggressive suspension frames and forks made for downhill racing and freeriding have as much as 8 or 9 inches of suspension travel. Many riders still prefer to ride a hardtail frame (bicycle without a rear suspension), but almost all mountain bicycle riders use a suspension fork.

"PANCURAN PITU" BATURADEN

Pancuran Pitu Batu Raden. Baturaden is a natural attraction at Banyumas, Central Java on the north of Purwokerto. It is about 20 km from Purwokerto that may take 15 minutes. 2 kilometers from Baturaden there is a hot spring waterfall called Pancuran Pitu. Pancuran means or small waterfall, while pitu means seven.

This tourism destination is on the slope of Mount Slamet. For people from the tropical country, its temperature is cold enough, about 18° Celsius - 25° Celsius. Going there on the rainy season is a bad decision, the best is on the dry season so that we can explore the jungle or climb Mount Slamet.

Baturaden

The entry ticket is IDR7,500 for domestic visitor and IDR15,000 for the foreign visitors. Here, tourist may enjoy the hot spring water, Sarabadak Cave, Mountain View and enjoy the fresh air.

Baturaden

Since the water is sulphuric, many people use it to cure skin problems. The people usually take a bath at the waterfall or just immersing their feet in the pool. The yellow color is caused by the sulfur that remains on the stone. The water’s temperature is about 60° Celcius, hot but its really fun to immerse our feet. It seems that the water relax the nerves. When we are tired, we can pay a massager to massage our body for about IDR15,000.

Accommodation
There are many hotels at Baturaden from the lowest price to the higher. When I was there, I booked Madurodam Hotel. The price is starting from IDR150.000 per night, it vary depends on the room. Small but clean, good food and I can sleep well.

Baturaden

To get there
It is very easy to get to Pancuran Pitu. A tourist can take a bus or a train to Purwokerto. From Purwokerto find bus to Baturaden for about IDR10,000.

Govt Proposes Mount Rinjani in Lombok as First Geopark

Mount RinjaniGovt Proposes Mount Rinjani in Lombok as First Geopark. The government has proposed to UNESCO that Mount Rinjani, Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, be one of the world's geoparks under its auspices, subsequently becoming the first geological park in Indonesia."The proposal is being discussed at the Forestry Ministry and Culture and Tourism Ministry and will then be handed over to the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)," Mount Rinjani National Park Center head Arief Toengkagie told The Jakarta Post recently. There are 53 geoparks around the world located in 17 countries. One of them is in Southeast Asia - Langkawi Island in Malaysia. Rinjani would become the first designated geopark in Indonesia. Arief said Mount Rinjani, at 3,726 meters above sea level, should become a geopark given its natural beauty and unique geology -- such as the Segara Anak Lake, situated 2,000 meters above sea level and its crater, hot springs, waterfall and the formation of a new mount within a caldera named "Baru Jadi".

Mount Rinjani

"Domestic and foreign visitors have so far shown a keen interest in visiting the area, especially for mountain climbing. The status as a geopark will be very beneficial in enhancing its overseas promotion campaigns," he said.Besides its potential as a geopark, the flora, fauna and local culture of communities living around the area also adds to its allure. For example, the culture of the traditional village of Senaru, located at one of the trail entrances on Mount Rinjani, has been preserved for centuries. Tourists can also visit the Wetu Telu Muslim community complex and the Hindu Ngulam Pakelem ritual at Segara Anak Lake, held every six months. Mountain climbing supervision is uniquely managed by the local community, called the Rinjani Trek Management Board (RTMB). It is made up of members from the local administration, tour operators and the local community. RTMB previously won the 2004 World Legacy Award, organized by Conservation International and National Geographic Traveler Magazine. Rinjani was also a finalist for the Tourism for Tomorrow Award in 2005 and 2008. "The awards have been presented for our ability to conserve nature and to improve the local people's welfare," Arief said. The national park comprises around 40,330 hectares and administratively encompasses West Lombok, Central Lombok and East Lombok regencies. As an entity, Mount Rinjani is one of the province's prime tourist destinations. It is the second tallest active volcano in Indonesia after Sumatra's Mount Kerinci (3,800 meters). It last erupted in 2004. Based on studies, Mount Rinjani has erupted several times on a large scale. The series of eruptions eventually formed the Mount Rinjani National Park, which has a morphology rich in rock formations and naturally forms an impressive landscape, besides functioning as a catchment area. So far this year the park center has recorded 2,800 foreign and 3,100 domestic visitors who scaled the mountain between March and August and registered at three official routes -- Senaru and Tembilo in West Lombok and Sembalu in East Lombok."Our target is 5,000 foreign climbers before the end of September provided the weather is favorable, an increase from last year's figure of 4,500," Arief said. Most of the foreign visitors come from various European and Asian countries as well as Australia. According to Arief, the proposal to designate Rinjani a geopark is a follow up to a 2007 proposal to UNESCO to turn it into a World Heritage Site."A World Heritage Site has several categories, one of them being the geopark. Becoming a world icon as a dedicated UNESCO geopark would help preserve Rinjani because everyone would be responsible and work together to conserve the area."
